SYNOPSIS
This comprehensive 108-hour course explores Islamic Psychology and Counselling (IPC) through four levels: Foundations, Intermediate, Advanced, and Practical. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of IPC’s principles, therapeutic techniques, and integration within real-world contexts. The curriculum includes the historical development of Psychology, human dimensions from the Quran and Hadith, mental health and its causes, Islamic ontology and epistemology, detoxification from secular approaches, understanding the self from an Islamic perspective, Islamically oriented therapeutic modalities, and the Fiqh (jurisprudence) of psychology and counselling. By progressing through these four levels, students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to apply IPC effectively in both personal and professional settings and develop knowledge and skills to carry out a full counselling session from the beginning to end.
The Professional Islamic Counselling Skills Programme (PICSP) is an independent and authentic course in Islamic Psychology and counselling skills. It is designed to empower counsellors, professionals, and newcomers to conduct Islamic counselling sessions authentically from an Islamic perspective, while also integrating evidence-based conventional approaches and techniques. This globally unique programme is independently developed and Islamically accredited by the Association of Islamic Mental Health Specialists (AIMS). Graduates of the course will receive a certificate and a detailed course transcript upon successful completion and passing of the programme.

Overview
TESTIMONIALS
Adam Patel
Graduate of Islamic seminary and student in Egypt
The PCSP has been an enlightening journey into the world of counselling and psychology from an Islamic perspective. Sh. Abdullah's extensive expertise in both theory and practice was evident throughout. The course covers a wide range of topics, from modern psychological theories and their potential pitfalls, to Islam's wholistic approach toward anthropology and psychology, to key skills and steps in practical counselling. By the end of the course, we had learnt and practiced, through role-play, activities and discussions, everything we needed to know to run a full counselling session, from beginning to end and with all its different stages.
I feel confident that the knowledge and skills learnt, with correct application and plentiful practice, has the potential to help so many people in need of support and guidance.

Teacher at Madaniyya Academy, Imam at Brampton & Regional Islamic Centre, Canada.
The PCSP has truly been an eye-opener for me. l have studied and graduated as a scholar from an institution in Canada known as Jamiah Qasimul Uloom. Currently, I serve as a teacher at Madaniyya Academy and as an Imam at a masjid known as Brampton and Regional Islamic Centre. As an Imam and teacher, the skills have gained from this program are invaluable. They have greatly enhanced my ability to communicate and provide support within our community. Shaykh Abdullah Hasan's expertise in psychology and counseling is remarkable. He understands these fields deeply and is dedicated to making them align with the commands of Allah SWT and the teachings of Rasulullah SAW. His commitment to educating us about the realities of the counseling industry and how to navigate it in a way that honors our faith is inspiring.
Hasan and all those who assist in the success of this course. Their hard work and dedication are making a significant difference.

l enrolled in this course hoping to learn more about the world of psychology and understand the impacts of the current structures on Muslims and the wider community. I also wanted to know with certainty if we could apply secular techniques without sustaining any harm and if so, what skills we might need to learn to achieve that. Ustadh addressed this and more, offering us a historical, present-day and future outlook on various levels with precision and in a welcoming, exciting and engaging manner. I can now effectively communicate what's going on, why it matters so much and what we can do about it. The skills learned in this study are especially effective within a counselling context, but so practical that every adult Muslim can apply them in multiple industries, settings, and dynamics including personal relationships.

The Professional Counseling Skills Program has been an amazing journey. I didn't expect that by the end of the course I could talk people through their challenges and problems in a structured way.
The growth Ive experienced has been tremendous. The course gives a very thorough grounding in theory and content, yet gives a heavy focus on practice and implementation. I've been able bring benefit to my family, friends and the communities that l work with.
I'd strongly recommend this course to people with Community-facing roles, it very quickly and thoroughly up-skills people to guide and steward people through research-backed methods.

Europe - PSCP student, Level 3 and Masters Student
I highly recommend the PSCP program to every Muslim psychology student. Almost two years ago, I sought a career change and began my master's degree in psychology. After the frst year of studying, I realized the problematic nature of Western psychology and felt uncertain about how to approach future clients without causing harm. This led me to search for psychology classes from an Islamic perspective.
Alhamdulillah, I found this program and integrated it with my second year at university. It has been exactly what I was looking for: highly beneficial, with a wealth of materials and presentations provided. This program offers more beneficial content than the master's program, and most importantly, it's taught by a qualified Islamic scholar and psychologist.
Insha Allah, I will soon embark on an internship through my university, and thanks to these classes, I feel confident in my ability to work with people there.

General Practitioner, Mauritius
As a GP, this course has been an eye opener. The nature of the mental health industry and current practices, particularly the notion of mental disorders in our society today, have been dissected expertly, and based upon evidences, by Shaykh Abdullah Hasan.
The course is highly interactive with a balanced combination of theory, practice and role-play, while being grounded in pristine Islamic teachings. Class discussions, supplementary reading materials and the Shaykh's writings bring fresh insights to the topics at hand. This course is a must for any counsellor in the Muslim community. I am grateful to be able to benefit from the Shaykh's expertise and look forward to implementing the skills acquired in the future with positive impact in sha Allah
